Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels: Review

I used to not be an eye gel or eye patch person. I found them so overpriced for a one time throw away use. Yes I always loved how they gave instant results in combination with the cooling de-puffing effect. Someone told me to try skyn ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. They’re more reasonably priced than some others at 8 pairs for $30 (still overpriced). That’s about $2 an eye or $4 for every use. Not cheap in general. Details per Dermstore:

skyn ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels are easy-to-apply, under-eye gel pads work to firm, de-puff and reduce fine lines and wrinkles for younger-looking, revitalized eyes. Elastin promotes firmness while hexapeptide reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Ginkgo Biloba diminishes puffiness and antioxidant Co-Q10 neutralizes free radicals for a rejuvenated appearance.

Most of these eye patches I try are more serum like or watery and slide around. These skyn patches are actually a hydrating gel that miraculously stays put for the whole wearing time. They don’t slide around. They’re cooling and hydrating to some degree like an eye patch generally is. They do de-puff, firm and help reduce lines as promised. The effects are temporary as is with all eye patches. To be expected and not a deal breaker. I imagine if you used these every night you would see a more permanent line reducing effect from the Hexapeptides, but no one can afford that. Weekly use at most. These are perfect before a night out, photo session or for that moment of self-care/pampering most of us tend to use things like this for.

I love that these are more affordable than others and don’t slide around. They come packaged in single serve pairs. You will get an instant de-puffing, cooling & firming effect from these. Just don’t expect long lasting miracles. I would repurchase these to keep them around for masking.

Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots: Review

So I normally use Renee Rouleau Anti-Cyst liquid treatment for blemishes. I recently got a one sheet sample of these Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots in a gift bag. I loved them so much I bought a whole box from Ulta, which is now gone.

Per Ulta: “Clear the way for perfect skin, one blemish at a time. Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots flood skin with a continuous flow of advanced blemish-fighting ingredients for fast and effective breakout relief within hours. Formulated to rapidly shrink blemishes and soothe irritation, while absorbing excess oil and curbing the spread of acne-causing bacteria, these innovative see-through stickers are packed with a potent blend of natural antibacterials, (including salicylic acid and tea tree oil), calming anti-inflammatories, and detoxifying actives.

An entirely new type of spot-treatment, each single-use patch adheres to skin-and stays-put-to deliver continuous pore-purifying benefits. Ideal for overnight use, wear one, or more, patches to bed, and wake up to clear skin in the morning. Peel patch off sheet and apply gel side down to an active blemish, or any spot where you feel a blemish developing. Push gently until it adheres to skin and leave on for several hours or overnight for best results. Remove patch when done and dispose.”

You get 48 dots for $20. The box lasted me around 4-6 weeks. You get 4 individually wrapped sheets of 12 dots in two sizes.

I LOVE these. So easy. Just stick on before bed and remove in the morning. I experienced no irritation, dryness or redness from using overnight. I found it best to apply the dots after my night moisturizer has sunk in for about five minutes. You can still have a moist feel to your skin and they’ll stick, but they slide a bit if you apply immediately after moisturizing.

So these do work. It will not get rid of your blemish in one night. I used these on more superficial blemishes as well as those deep painful cysts. Put one of these on the same night you feel a deep cyst coming on. You may need to wear a patch for 3-4 nights in a row to get past the window of developing a cyst. If you consistently use this I found I developed no deep cysts, which meant no blemishes.

I love the ease of these. They’re a little pricey considering you may use more than one a night for 3-4 days. You need to be consistent and patient for these to work. One night won’t do it for a deep cyst. One night will shrink a surface blemish. If you are patient, use them for more than one night you can keep a deep painful cyst from developing with ease. At a cost. I’m currently trying the Peter Thomas Roth ones to see if they’re about the same. Review coming one day on that one too. These went in my Hero Product List.
